Yet again it’s been a while since I last posted to the blog, it’s been hectic. Just a reminder, the CESI Conference 2008 is on the horizon, February 8th and 9th. For more information check out www.cesi.ie/conference, it’s an event no ICT in education enthusiast should miss.
I will be presenting again this year on the Saturday and following last year’s Swish animation demo I intend to further explore a number of Swish Flash authoring tools that enable the creation of a myriad of interactive and powerful multimedia content easily, including Swish Video 2 and Swish Pix. More information is available at www.cesi.ie/conference/presentations08.html#16.
Hope to see you there!

Apologies for the lack of activity these past few months but there haven’t been enough hours in the day! A quick update on what’s been going on, I have just finished work on the St. Mary’s SNS website www.stmarysns.ie, including a dedicated news blog. Also in the melting pot at the moment, I am exploring Moodle, the CMS system with the intention of publishing some interactive course activities in the future. I also hope to start posting some more useful web design links in the Web Design section of this blog very soon!
That’s it for now!

Certain scripts and utilities are essential for any web designer and if you follow the link to Automatic @ automaticlabs.com you’ll find two such gems…
Image Rotator is a free PHP script that provides a simple way to make an image on your website change every time a visitor reloads the page. It’s easy to add or remove images for rotation as the script uses whatever images are uploaded to the rotate folder. The only cavaet is your site must be hosted on a server that supports PHP (version 4.2 or newer).

My recent presentation at this year’s CESI (Computer Education Society of Ireland- www.cesi.ie) Conference entitled “Flash Animation Without Flash!” focused exclusively on using Swish Max, Swish Pix and Swish Video. Swish products provide Flash authoring tools that are both powerful and easy to use. Check out the home of Swish at www.swishzone.com to see that generating high impact flash content needn’t be a complicated task. Free trials are available and great educational discounts also.
